The food and liquids we consume provide all sorts of value, and it's not an understatement to say that we'd die without them. One might think that something so useful might be able to be used more than once. In this case, "one" is NASA, and they're hoping to do just that.

It makes a lot of sense. As the situation stands today, astronaut waste is exactly that — waste. There are plenty of ways to use excreta: some of the more obvious ones ways include fertilizer and fuel. But NASA's exploring some more obscure tactics, in hopes that where they land will be of use to traveling spacemen. At the top of NASA's list is a plastic crafted from astronaut urine! Can you imagine all the uses that would have?

Check out the clip from SciShow Space below to hear about how they're going to make it happen. Let us know in the comments how you could see this being used, and when the video's over, be sure to share it with your friends on Facebook!
