Where did god come from? That's the question Trace Dominguez is tackling in this episode of TestTube Plus. It's worth noting that he's not specifically addressing Judeo-Christian god, but the concept of gods. He notes that the commonly agreed-upon time when humans began ritualistic traditions as cavemen about 300,000 years ago.
Religion evolved over millennia, and while the cavemen traditions have either died off or been assimilated, there are some ancient religions still being practiced. Hinduism is the oldest of the bunch, dating back 4,000 years, but the religious landscape was a lot different when Hinduism was born. Trace notes that Christianity was the first religion to identify a god explicitly as male, though depending on who you ask, Judaism "suggests a masculine subject."
