Violets, touch me nots, and squirting cucumbers are all a part of this long-standing botanic tradition, and you can see them pop in this glorious high-definition, slow-motion footage from Smithsonian. I have to hand it to the editor — the added sound effects are cracking me up. There's definitely some creative Foley work at play here, and while it's certainly over-the-top, there's no denying that it's pretty impressive. What did you think of this clip?
