They were a month late to the party, but the Soyuz crew returned safely to Kazakhstan on Thursday, after a rocket failure caused a delay.
The three astronauts who landed were Terry Virts, United States, Samantha Cristoforetti, Italy, and Russia's own Anton Shkaplerov. They were all part of Expedition 43, which began the study of meteors entering the earth's atmosphere. Additionally, they ran tests on the "durability of a new synthetic material with human-like features when exposed to the harsh microgravity environment [of space]."
We've included a set of some absolutely stellar images from NASA of the landing in Kazakhstan, and below that you'll find the whole landing video from ESA. It's quite long, so you might just want to scrub through it. Let us know what you thought in the comments below, and be sure to share this awesome album with your friends!
