The Pacu is an interesting species of freshwater fish found in South America. It's related to the piranha, so it shouldn't come as too much of a surprise that they've got a banter-worthy bite — but their chompers are a lot different from the teeth you'd find in its far more popular cousin. They bear a much closer resemblance to human molars. National Geographic calls the likeness "eerie."
It's not a new species of fish, but it's gained a bit more notoriety recently, when one specimen was found in a New Jersey lake. Unlike humans, or the pirahna, these sea-dwellers aren't into flesh — so you can stop pulling your hair out. These buggers might look a bit scary, but their innocuous diet proves otherwise. They'd fit in well with the earthy-crunchy crowd, preferring fallen fruit and nuts to animals. You can think of it as the piranha's vegan cousin.
