The world is filled with some pretty stunning places. From the Azores off the coast of Portugal, to the top of Half Dome in Yosemite National Park, we've got no shortage of places that will take your breathe away.

But there's something different about the places in this compilation. They embody a different sort of beauty — one not often seen in every day life. They start with Lake Hillier, which can be found on an island off the coast of Australia. If God wanted the Earth to have a punch bowl, this is it. Unlike Kool-Aid though, Lake Hillier has salt levels on par with those of the Dead Sea.

The landscape I was most impressed with was the Richat Structure, better known as the Eye of Sahara. It was long thought to be an impact crater from an incoming asteroid, but it has since been identified as a dome, which is a geological structure formed when magma pushes up on the earth's crust from below. After millennia of erosion, the Richat Structure now more closely resembles a bullseye than a bulge. Be sure to check out the video below for a bunch of other equally remarkable landscapes, and when you're done, don't forget to share it with your friends on Facebook!
