Discovery's Shark Week might be over, but our nightmares still linger. Sharks are huge, powerful creatures, and they're often seen as some of the deadliest on Earth. While they might rank highly in a 1-on-1 face-off, a cursory look at the numbers proves that we've got bigger problems to worry about.
Things might vary over time, but on average, sharks generally aren't responsible for the deaths of more than ten humans per year. There are 14 other animals on this list, and they're all responsible for more fatalities each year than sharks are. This list has some likely suspects (humans, mosquitos, snakes), but viewers will definitely be surprised to hear about the others.
