Humans have been around for a while, but Earth has been around much longer. If you're looking for numbers, modern humans have existed for roughly 200,000 years. The earth? Try 4.54 billion years. There's simply no analogy to describe how infinitesimally small of a time we've been here in comparison to the planet itself. Again, if you're looking for a number, we've been here for something like .00004% of the the Earth's existence. If that was the portion of cake on your plate at your last birthday party, your plate was empty.

That being said, it doesn't take a lot of time for a species like ours to make an impact. In our short time here, we've irreversibly changed a lot about our planet. From the plastics, and the radioactive waste we've created, to radio waves that will emit through space forever, there are a bunch of things that will live on far past our demise. What's more interesting to see is what will return to normal. The video below answers the fascinating question: "what would happen to our planet if humans disappeared?"
